This week you will complete your furniture buying by adding all necessary purchasing information on the Excel spreadsheet and have a corresponding Word document with an image of the furniture piece you are buying. Remember, this is due by the end of class on Wednesday!
You will continue designing your dream library. This week you will need to determine the final placement of all furniture and make sure all furniture is placed on the Roomle app. Also you need to consider the size of the furniture needed for the various areas in your library.
You must keep in mind, you will need at least 55 chairs for students and teachers to sit in... No more than 75 or the Fire Marshall will not like us. Please have 25 spots for laptops or iPad use!! You may count multi-use furniture as one chair. By Friday, you should share a screen shot of your design with Mrs. MacDonald on Office365.
In preparation for next weeks' assignment you may check out the following furniture suppliers for cool library furniture!
Creative Library Concepts
Library Furniture Manufacturers
You will continue to work on your final project of designing a new 21st Century Learning Commons for LCMA! Remember all the requirements stated in last weeks' agenda post. Your designs will be checked on Tuesday and Friday this week for ten points each. Remember to keep track of the various websites you may use to obtain ideas for your Works Cited page!!
You will create a floorplan for your dream library with the dimensions of 100' X 40'.
You must include a circulation area, computers for research, a reading and gaming area, a MakerSpace area, a small area to process books and a space for the books! An office for Mrs. MacD would be very appreciative hopefully with a view of the lake! You may use Roomle on the computer also. We have discovered it will sync to the iPads!
Remember this is your idea of a dream library. You may place the required items anywhere in the floorplan! You may add anything you feel should be included in a 21st Century Learning Commons like a restroom for the students!
